i have had the Need to see It again..
That Video exhalts and developes my delirious Vein:
i have just realized that if listening to Ark Songs (alone at home) you take off all the clothes to dance and "let your body decide",then you will get the Deepest Form of Artistic-Mystical Extacy..
THAT'S DIVINELY GOOD AND SPIRITUALLY NECESSARY!
..'cause,essentially,"it takes a Cool to return Insane" :D

  • Anja, no problem ;).

Ha, someone found my 2nd YouTube profile ;D. Anyway, I have to say it one more time - you definitely should record and release this new/old song "Eucharist"! I kinda fell in love with it! ♥ That track has this apocalyptic feeling which we all know from EP. It'd be a perfect b-side song or something... But I'd really, really want to hear it. Somehow. Somewhere... :)
  • Hah. Pretentionerna var det inget fel på i alla fall ;)
  • I can kinda help out here I think. Ola talked about this shortly when Ark played at Bananpiren in Gothenburg in 2003. It was something along the lines of that he was disappointed he never got to sing 'Guldet' in Gothenburg since Peter was such a healthy bastard (his words). So yes, he was part of the gang, but he never actually got to perform.

Regarding the name, I'm a bit unsure, though I think I can recall Ola mentioning he hadn't started with Salo yet.

This, and most the others, clip indeed makes feel time running more quickly. So thanks for shareing this also in here. :) (My language teacher would be proud, if could know I watch Swedish-speaking programme. Only little problem is that I don't understand, though there is much what can adapt form english, reputedly) ;) But once again, I can watch those like picturebook and infer what's happening and what's topic. Cheers! :)

Får man höra en sång? Nä, då får du allt betala!

Well there's dist and then there's dist. Most rock use some kind of distortion on their guitars. But the amount varies a LOT.
  • Kelly
    ..only Excellent?
ok it can be acceptable, but just because words are never addicted to express Feelings and Concepts like Those..
  • C
Here we differ, Anvariel! I don't like disted guitars at all. I recall I felt great satisfaction when Ola revealed that The Ark usually avoid playing full chords with distorsion, in order to avoid a messy sound. Clever! Good idea!

And oh, I so wish Kent could have taken that advice as well ... you see, I have tinnitus, and I live with distorsion in one ear, 24 hours a day. Much more of that is not a pleasure.
  • Anvariel
Lovely clip! Thank you Kata, for posting it (yeah, yeah, we know it's yours! ;)) on youtube and thank you guys for posting it here. Wow, the seriousness is enormous in this clip!! A very determined young man, to be sure! Excellent! And the music was so much more rocky... not that I'm complaining, but I really do enjoy disted guitars. ;)

This hiddeously long wait - you said it, not me. I have to admit patience is not my virtue, so going to yoga three times this week, hopefully it helps.

It is quite funny, I have a dizzy memory that Ola's name was mentioned when I went to see "Kristina från Duvemåla" in April, 1996, in Gothenburg. Just a fraction of a memory, that I read the folder before the performance and noticed that Ola Salo was stand-in for Peter Jöback (who performed as usual that evening). It was something about that name, something familiar although I could not recall why. Then, way back in 1996 ...

Years later, when I saw The Ark in Melodifestivalen 2007 and heard that name again, I recalled that little episode from 1996. Then I decided that it probably was just a reconstruction of my memory, probably Ola wasn't in "Kristina" when they performed in Gothenburg ... you know, memories are not reliable at all. You can literally construct a memory of something that never happened. First of all, I don't think Ola called himself Ola Salo in 1996, did you?

So, I remembered that I read that name in 1996, I remembered that I reacted on it because it was something familiar about it. And I think it is a false memory.

Ola, please, can you enlighten me here, finally? Were you in the company in Gothenburg 1996? Was your name Ola Salo by then? Or did my mind play a time-leap trick on me? It would be interesting to sort this out!
